Alternative Work Schedule?

Editors Note: We have heard from several people that FRD admin has created some sort of alternative work schedule for ONE PERSON. Here is one person's tip and thoughts on the topic:

I heard some snippets of a discussion that a als/ems technician resigned, then rescinded resignation AND is going to be working some sort of 40 hour/week at H1 rate. According to discussion this employee will contact the Ops-6 personnel and schedule their "week", to include at least one 24 hour shift. Hmmmm, how do I get this deal?

If, and a big if, this is true...where is the union when you really need it to be there? The union plays favorites just like FD admin (my opinion, obviously)

VATF-1 Makes Rescue In Haiti

CNN showed the Fairfax Va VATF-1 making a rescue in Haiti - we saw it on HLN. They interviewed Sam Gray. Great press! We would like to suggest that VATF-1 give Sam a light that doesn't have to be duct taped to his helmet! It would seem like all of the FEMA money would have money in the budget for that! Great job guys.

The Rumor Mill - Deputy Chief Accused of Failing To Render Aid

We have received three tips that a certain Deputy Chief drove past a serious auto accident, and failed to stop and render aid. There seems to be some confusion to this rumor, and we would love to hear from those who can shed some light on this. One tipster says that the accident was at Stringfellow and Braddock. A second tipster says it was at 29 and Shirley Gate. The third tipster didn't provide a location, but all three say that the DFC is said to have driven past or near the incident location.

How did this information come about? Apparently we can thank our new technology. One of our tipsters says "People at PSTOC had numerous calls to report said accident, apparently once an event is entered into the system AVLs (automatic vehicle locators,GPS?) appear in and around the entered location, and there was an AVL that was headed right towards the dispatched location. Great, someone just happens to be in the area and can verify the location, stop to help, etc. This AVL apparently proceeded towards the location arrived, passed through, and kept on going......did not appear to stop, or offer assistance."

We have also heard that shortly after this incident, this Deputy Chief had the AVL system disconnected from their vehicle, so it was inoperable. WOW! Can you imagine having the balls to disconnect the tracking system, so your location can't be tracked?

Keep in mind that none of these tips have been validated. If any of this is true, it would be a serious breech of trust. If you have accurate information on this, please email us: thebigeyeinfairfax@gmail.com As always, your name will never be revealed.

Singer Faces More Child Sex Charges

InsideNova.com is reporting that a third person has come forward to accuse Richard "Dick" Singer of child molestation. The person, now 20, says that Singer molested him when he was 11 years old, and says that the assaults took place over a four year period. Singer was accused by two other people of child molestation, which was reported in September.

InsideNova.com was able to reach Singers sister, who was quoted as saying “These charges are completely devastating, and took all of us completely by surprise,” said Singer Equipment co-owner Sidra Seeley. “We are doing everything that we can to combat these false charges, and appreciate the support we have received from our generous customers that we have developed relationships with over the years.”
