Subject: T-Shirts
Greetings All,
I'm sure there will be the customary questions regarding if and when T-Shirts can be worn during the summer months, but there needs to be a balance between the needs of the organization and our personnel.
We certainly want to empower our company officers to make this decision, and yes I understand that in the past it has been regulated to the shift deputy and or safety officer, but until such time that our standard operating procedures have been updated and adopted, here is the policy that has been expressed in the past, and one that should continue to be enforced as we make our station visits.
T-shirts may be worn in lieu of the department issued polo shirt with the class D uniform only when and If the heat index is 90 or above. Only navy blue or white T-shirts issued by the department may be worn. T-shirts with company insignias or logos are not authorized.
Thanks
JJ
